Good afternoon, and welcome everyone to the webinar. Today, we're gonna spend some time to introduce you to Nasuni's file data services and how we can help you to achieve IT efficiencies, resilience, and savings on your unstructured file datasets. My name is Kevin Moxie. I'm one of the regional sales managers here at Nasuni. I'm supported by my colleague, Radek, who is, one of our senior solutions architects. So, you know, what are the typical challenges we hear when we're speaking to organizations about their unstructured file data? Well, we see consistently that file data is typically at least 70 to 80% of an organization's total data footprint. So there's already a big challenge. But then according to IDC, Gartner, 80% of all new data created is also unstructured. So this is where we see a lot of the pressures on IT teams is in controlling the growth of those unstructured file sets. Organizations are increasingly wanting to extract value and insights from this data to gain competitive advantage. But, you know, this has historically been very difficult to do so because it's spread out amongst multiple silos of infrastructure and silos of resource. So by that, we're talking about multiple file servers, NAS platforms, remote offices, with their own infrastructure stack, backup solutions, Doctor. And globalization means there's much larger ramifications of downtime. Ransomware is becoming an ever growing threat. We've seen that budgets are getting squeezed constantly. And, you know, the diagram on the right hand side of my screen here talks about, yeah, data centers, Doctor sites, remote offices, but this also includes the cloud. So, again, with their own kind of resources and silos of infrastructure in the cloud. So you've got, you know, this massive myriad of different solutions spread across on premise and in the cloud, with multiple copies, versions, of the same data. And so the whole reason Nasuni was founded was really to to create a platform that collapses and consolidates all of the components of traditional file infrastructure into a single platform, that provides infinite scalability, integrated security and resilience, and overall, efficiencies. The typical journey we take our customers on, you know, looks a little bit like this. So first and foremost, you know, the Nasuni file data platform provides that single global namespace to unify all those multiple silos of infrastructure. We then allow you to protect those files against any threats with the ability to recover in minutes to any location, providing a global SLA. Because we are replacing multiple point solutions, we provide an optimized TCO from both a hard cost perspective and also operational efficiencies. And when we talk about AI, you know, you can't have an AI strategy without first having a data strategy. And Nasuni forms the ideal framework to underpin AI workflows on unstructured files. So I'm gonna pass you across to Radek to talk you through the platform in a bit more detail. Yes. Absolutely. Let me share my screen and show you the diagram. So let's have a closer look at how Nasuni delivers scalable, secure, and high performance global file systems. So Kevin mentioned already a number of things around, like, traditional, file data solutions. They they typically relied on on premise NAS or file servers, and this worked fine for local workloads. But they created major challenges when businesses they they expanded globally. So things like, you know, storage capacity limits, expensive hardware refreshes, backup and Doctor complexity, and and and last but not least, difficulty of sharing files between different locations. So Nasuni was designed to address all of those by modernizing file storage using the cloud. So at the heart of Nasuni's solution is something called the global file system known as UniFS. And unlike traditional file systems, UniFS stores all the data and metadata as objects in cloud storage. So think about AWS S3, Microsoft Azure Blob, or or Google Cloud Storage. And what makes it special is that it provides a single authoritative file system namespace, which can be accessed from pretty much anywhere while using the cloud for the gold copy of every file. So this is our back end layer, again, where all file data, metadata, and snapshots are stored as immutable objects. So the cloud gives Nasuni unlimited scalability, but also built in durability. So think of, like, you know, 11 nines of durability as a minimum. You you can you can even, you know, increase that using specific durability layers in a in a cloud. And, also, that object storage gives us low cost solution when you compare that especially to any on prem storage arrays. But, also, it is cheaper than other types of cloud storage. So because every file change creates a new version, backup and Doctor are built in. So you can restore any file or folder or even the entire volume to a previous point in time pretty much instantaneously. So let's add additional items to our diagram. So let's, our edge appliances. So they can be deployed either on prem or in the cloud. So let's put two of those at the moment. So these are either virtual or physical appliances, as I mentioned, that that they can be deployed either at your offices, data centers, or directly in the cloud as as this one here, and they provide local file access while connecting to the back end global file system in the cloud. So so so what do they do? Okay? You know, first of all, they translate the object protocol at the back end into the well known, file access protocols like SMB or NFS at the front end. So what does it mean? So there is no need to change user workflows. There is no need to change the way how they access the files. They will use the familiar methods as they are using today. So the next thing edge appliances do, they cache frequently used files for fast reads and writes. Those those changes, they are captured continuously, and they are asynchronously sent back to the cloud. So now let me add even more edge appliances to the diagram. Let's label those sites. Let's say that one is in New York, and this one is in London. Okay? So if multiple sites like here, they have edge appliances connected to the same volume, then they all share a consistent global namespace, the same file system. So, let let's imagine we have a New York and London offices both working on the same design files. So someone in New York edit a file, and then it is being stored quickly locally on that local appliance in new, in New York. That change is then uploaded as a new file version to the cloud. And within minutes, London's Edge Appliance will update its metadata, and users in London will see that new version of the file automatically, and they can start working on the same file. So the result of that is fast local access combined with a global consistency. So it's worth to mention at this point that Nasuni performance is optimized by that local caching, but also data compression, which we which we do on the edge appliances and also intelligent prefetching algorithms. So the users, they get LAN like performance even with that global back end. Okay. So one, more components to add. Our Nasuni management console or NMC. This is the control plane. It is a management interface for administrators. It can be, again, deployed either on prem as a virtual appliance or directly in the cloud. Through the NMC, you can deploy and monitor all your edge appliances. You can create and manage file shares. You can set policies around snapshots and retention. You can, manage access for end users, and you can also set alerts and configure notifications. So NMC centralizes management across all your sites and appliances, making multisite operations much, much simpler. So let's briefly talk about security, how Nasuni ensures that we have end to end security. So first of all, all data is being encrypted, both in transit and at rest. When new data is being written to an edge appliance, this is where it's getting encrypted, and the keys are owned by the customer. Okay? We can also integrate in a Windows environment with Active Directory, So that integration gives seamless access to existing AD members, because they will use their NTFS permissions to access the files. And, last but not least, when it comes to disaster recovery, this is this is very, very simple in a a Nasuni file data platform. Those appliances are pretty much stateless. If an edge appliance fails for whatever reason, you can spin up a new one anywhere, not necessarily even in the same location, and it will instantly rebuild and pull back all the configuration information from the back end object storage. So to summarize, the Nasuni File Data Platform gives you cloud scalability and durability, local performance, global file sharing and collaboration. It delivers built in backup and disaster recovery and provides simplified management. So that's all from me. And are there any questions? Thanks, Radek. So just looking through the chat, there are a few questions that have come in. So, I guess yeah. Let's start with this one. So we're already storing a lot of data in the cloud. How is Nasuni different from just putting our file shares into Azure or AWS? K. Very good question. So Nasuni has been built from the ground up as a cloud native solution. So we fully utilize all the benefits of object storage, giving unlimited, scalability, utilizing durability, and also providing global access at the same time. Any kind of a, like, you know, lift and shift solution where moving the data from on prem to the cloud will not have will not deliver the same characteristics. I think that's a good point, Radek. So I think, yeah, if if there's lots of solutions on the market, obviously, but I think, yeah, if you take some time to, yeah, take a closer look under the hood at most of these other solutions, you'll find that most of them are based on legacy hardware based technology, which has just been retrofitted to run-in a cloud data center. So they don't really address any of the challenges that we hear regarding on prem infrastructure. But because they're running the cloud, they cost more than they did on prem. So, obviously, get well, at scale, that isn't a good, route to go down. And I think it just goes hand in hand with the fact that, you know, this is a a truly scalable platform. We've got several petabyte scale customers spanning multiple verticals and industries. Just to name a few, TBWA, Omnicom, Western Digital, Lang O'Rourke, Repsol. So this is a proven super scalable solution. You talked a bit about, security backups, Radek. There's a question here specifically around ransomware recovery. So you mentioned ransomware recovery. How exactly does Nasuni help us recover faster compared to traditional backup or snapshot tools? Oh, sure. Yeah. Absolutely. So first of all, just to reiterate, on Nasuni, there is no limit when it comes to snapshots. So you can have, like, a five minutes granularity, and you can keep those snapshots forever. And and those snapshots are by nature not accessible by any end users, so they are immutable. So you can very quickly recover from from any incident. And, also, our recovery restore mechanism is based on file versions. So we are not moving any data. So you can you can recover, like, you know, terabytes, petabytes of data very, very quickly. So so that's that's another angle. And and on on top of that, what we also have is our advanced ransomware protection, which on on on top of the, you know, inbuilt backup and recovery mechanism can detect in real time, ransomware attacks. It can alert on them, but it can also mitigate blocking offending workstations by blocking either IP address or username or both. And after that, we provide a capability to do a very precise targeted rapid restores of recovering all the impacted files. Perfect. So without having to roll back the entire file system, it's just those impacted files that have been affected by the ransomware attack, therefore minimizing data loss on files that weren't touched by the the attack in the first place. I guess I guess, because the the key point or really important point here about that is the fact that, you know, this is real time detection and mitigation on the active file system. You're not having to wait for backups to be completed first. This is all on the live file system itself. Correct. Yes. I guess another thing which we we we hear as well is often we hear, stories of kind of internal conflict, in the event of ransomware or other instance, between IT teams wanting to, you know, recover and get business back up and running and users back up and operational. But on the flip side, you've got kind of cybersecurity teams wanting to investigate the the incident in the first place. With Nasuni, one of the the great things about Nasuni is the fact that you can have both. You don't have to have have one or the other. You can roll back the file system to let the users get back up and running, but you can also keep that point in time of after the incident to investigate that in more detail and spend some time. So and you don't need double the resource to to have, you know, both those environments together either. So that's a that's a big win we hear from a lot of our customers. Absolutely. Yes. Okay. So okay. So next question. So we've got we have multiple multiple sites around the world. Can Nasuni really deliver fast file access everywhere without local servers? Yes. Absolutely. At this point, it's worth to mention our additional functionality, around specifically around, file sharing across multiple locations. We have a feature called global file lock, which essentially makes sure that there is no file version conflicts. Only only one user at any location at any given time is is able to edit the file, or others, you know, will receive notification that file, you know, has been locked. And the second feature called global file acceleration, I was talking a lot about snapshots, how we synchronize the data to the back end. It can be done on schedule. Or with global file acceleration, we actively monitor users' activity across multiple locations, and we adapt dynamically to the usage pattern so we propagate those changes as quickly as possible, across multiple locations. And probably worth to mention that this this capability is one of the key features for many of our existing customers. This is how we deliver that, you know, multisite, collaboration. Yeah. Yeah. Ultimately, I think, yeah, this is helping our customers to accelerate project timelines, and enable them to come to market faster with new products, new services, based on those productivity gains that that that this this provides. I think I mentioned Western Digital, as one of our customer examples earlier on the call. I guess a really good example here is, you know, by moving to Nasuni and replacing legacy on prem file infrastructure, they were able to reduce down file sync times from twelve hours down to ten minutes, which is a huge improvement. Okay. So moving on. Our leadership is focused on reducing IT costs. What kind of ROI are Nasuni customers actually seeing and why? So I guess I can probably take this one, Radek. So I think, you know, we see both hard costs and operational savings, and, of course, it depends on what is in the environment existing today. But we can see TCO reductions and optimizations of up to kind of 70%, and this is where really this is really where we can help you using our experience and expertise to help build accurate TCO models that will help to show and demonstrate the business case. And, ultimately, you know, this can be used as part of the internal, approval and sign off process. So, yeah, if you'd like to do this, then, yeah, please reach out and contact us. We'd be happy to have a conversation in more detail. But, yeah, this is part and parcel of what we do on a daily basis. So please, yeah, help us to help you and leverage the experience and expertise that we have, to help your life easier, in kind of a yeah. Moving through your internal, approval process. Okay. I think there's probably a few more. So we are using other vendors for backup and Doctor today. How does Nasuni fit into or replace, those parts of our stack? Okay. So I've I've mentioned that already that we have inbuilt data protection mechanism based on infinite, fine version capability. And the vast majority of our customers, they when they implement Nasuni, they remove their traditional third party backup tools. They rely on Nasuni data protection. Fantastic. And I think, yeah, I've mentioned hard cost savings a lot, so far, but, yeah, this is really where customers see some huge operational improvements. So immediately by moving to Nasuni, it means there's no backup jobs for the team to monitor, run, and kind of fix, why they didn't complete in the first place. So that often is a huge operational overhead lifted from IT teams immediately. And, again, I think I mentioned this earlier in the call, but with Nasuni, we can provide, a global recovery SLA measured in minutes to all locations. And, again, that's a really big win. Lots of customers have quite resilient systems and solutions in their main data centers and main office locations, but maybe not so much the case in some of the remote sites. With Nasuni, we can provide that global recovery SLA time to any location. Absolutely. Yes. So I think there's probably one more to to finish up on, Garett. So, we're thinking about how AI could help us get more value from our data. How does Nasuni play a role? K. So the the the key big benefit of, Nasuni file data platform is the fact that we are consolidating multiple silos of data into a single unified file system. Okay? That's a huge, huge benefit. If you think if you have large organization, multiple sites, multiple silos of file data, then it is very, very difficult to analyze that data. By consolidating that, putting that in the cloud, it's very, very easy to then apply the specific AI tools, to to to to to that data. So let me find, you know, a good icon for that. Let's put a virtual machine which will represent a specific workload, specific AI, job you you can run. So, basically, it's as simple as pointing that as a at Nasuni Edge Appliance, and then you immediately have access to all the data. One of the things which are also relevant here, we didn't talk about it, are Nasuni data services, which provide even more efficient access to that, gold copy of the data stored in the cloud by a way of providing read only APIs to, AI tools. So, yeah, that's that's the answer. Perfect. And, again, to stress, Nasuni is not an AI solution, but it can help to underpin a successful AI strategy on your unstructured file sets. Again, one thing which again is quite important is the fact, you know, new data is usually created at the edge rather than, yeah, centralized. And again, with Nasuni, we can make that new data, created at the edge available to AI pipelines very, very quickly. Absolutely. So I think that's the end of the questions, Radek. But, yeah. Thank you all, for the questions so far. We can send out contact details after this. If you'd like to speak to us in more detail about putting together, a business case or TCO comparison, please reach out, and we'd love to hear from you. Look forward to speaking to you all soon. Thanks a lot. Thanks a lot. Bye.
